About George

Hi, my name is George and I am the head trainer at M.A. Training Sydney, Cherrybrook.  

I have been coaching now for over 20 years. Prior to that I worked as a software integration test specialist in an IT company. This ‘testing’ background helped me in finding out which exercise programs, diet and supplements work and which don’t.

It was during the preparation for my black belt grading in Tae Kwon Do when I started to take a serious interest in conditioning. I hired strength and conditioning coaches, cross trained in different martial arts style and even travelled to US to train with some of the best coaches. I got certified as a Fitness Instructor and a Specialist in Martial Arts conditioning.  

Once I started to get an understanding of what correct form and functional movement patterns were, I realised that a lot of martial arts schools were doing it all wrong. The movement quality was being sacrificed for volume, more intensity, less rest, larger groups and so on.

Continuous research in the areas of nutrition and exercise became a habit which I still practice on daily basis. Forming a habit is what we all need to do to succeed. It is not just about will power or mind over matter, you need to form a habit, stick with it and you shall be rewarded!
